Leaving Durban at the crack of dawn around 05h30 am, we head West towards the Southern Drakensberg to begin our adventure as previously mentioned, the tour is broken into two parts and you have a choice of only 'ONE' to do on the day else do the 2 Day Tour ( see Web Page ).
Option One : Hike for Ancient Bushman 'Rock' Painting & Horse Ride
Arriving in Underberg, a small town in Underberg we will marry up with our local community Hiking guide. Departing from this point we will then head on to the hiking area. The hike is an average walk with a reasonable degree of fitness and does allow for slow walkers to keep a good pace. At the hike we will visit one of many ancient historical Bushmen Rock Painting sites to view these ancient artwork of these early day hunter-gatherers. The guide will show and illustrate how the paintings refer to hunting methods, family life and ritual tradition that have occurred centuries ago. Some prisinte little waterfalls and just the sheer tranquility of being one with Nature will touch you. Guests are advised to have a reasonable supply of water and don’t forget your costume as the crystal clear cool Mountain waters offer some great swimming opportunities if you so desire.
Lunch back at Underberg.
We then move on to a Working Horse Ranch in the area where we will enjoy a two hour horse ride. The horse ride is to get your natural spiritual senses into overdrive as you enjoy the Mountain Range on Horseback which is awesome, The chance to spot antelope on the mountainside or maybe a small Duiker {antelope} in the forest. Majestic views are all around and the pace is great for many photographic opportunities.
Depart for Durban around 16h00 pm and arriving around 19h00 pm

What to Bring
. Camera with lots of film, Binoculars which is not a must

Option Two : Sani Pass/Lesotho ( Passport a MUST )
Arriving in Underberg, a small town in the Southern Drakensberg Mountains we stop off to meet up with our guide for the day. It is also at this point that we will move into a 4x4 vehicle capable of getting up the Sani Pass.
Sani Pass is the gateway from Kwa Zulu Natal into Basutoland and it is important for guests doing this option to have their passports for border control. Entering into Basuto territory we will visit one of the local villages to have a brief but well detailed understanding of Basuto culture. Meet the locals and if we are lucky taste some of the bread that the people make.
Leaving the village we head back to the highest pub in Africa for Lunch. Once lunch is finished we will start the descent from Lesotho back into South Africa arriving back in Underberg around 15h00 pm.
Depart for Durban around 15h30 pm and arriving around 18h30 pm

OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS:
· Cameras are acceptable but the guide may request certain scenes not be photographed. Please respect this.
· During the tour you are exposed to traditional Basuto culture and we recommend you to ask as many questions as you wish as this is a two way cultural experience
· We request that guests refrain from handing out clothes and money, as this is detrimental to their culture.
· Times given are merely guidelines and can alter depending access to mountain passes and misty/rainy weather conditions but generally times given allow for detours.
